  6.    It occurs to me that the real issues in gaming are about to change.  The truth is that all of the systems will have a number of very good if not downright great games.  People can (and will) argue that one or the other system is trash and has vastly inferior games but that argument will be based on either ignorance or dishonesty (my systems better than yours, so there! type arguments).
  7.    Consumers will look at issues like price (huge), name recognition, coolness (remember how Sega's ads and relaxed content restrictions made them "cooler" than Nintendon't) etc..  Marketing will be key.
  8.    One or two well recognized killer games exclusive to a system could win the buying season (e.g. MKIII).  A great game w/o great marketing is not going to be enough.  This system war will not necessarily be won by the so called "best" system, but probably by the best marketing strategy and the company(ies) with the most bucks to implement it.
